My Question is, If someone was to install a complete three round burst trigger with the correct selector into an AR minus the sear and the three round hammer gear, what would happen. I know it would be completely stupid but someone I know thinks it would make their rifle full auto. I told him I don't think the trigger would fit without milling some to the lower and if he did get it in I think it would cause a runaway fire.

About anyone can buy the parts. Putting them together or even keeping them in proximity to a receiver they might fit in is a big no no.

In the full position the gun may run away . I say "may" because it will not be consistent . Olofson is a good read on this topic . He went to federal prison for a bit. He did not have a sear installed . The ATF helped the testing by using Federal Commercial ammo which is known to be lighter on the primer . The ATF got the gun to run random burst and Olofson went to federal prison. He is now a felon . To the poster above the parts are not regulated . It is the installation that causes the problem .
