Nice strategy and buck. You are correct, avoiding others is the key. It seems that a lot of folks get packed in around the golf course every year.

Most guys hunting there are very predictable. I leave the golf course strictly alone. Most guys who take their kids along set up out there and I want them to be successful. Besides, there is 5,800 acres there, give or take, and some dense hardwoods that are full of deer.

Last time I hunted there it had rained for 2 straight weeks, yet everyone was hunting the creek bottoms. It made no sense. There was water everywhere, within a few feet wherever you turned. I set up on some high ground, on a large plateau, and scored a decent 8 point within 15 minutes.

I'm in for Chattahoochee Fall line (Fort Perry) 2nd hunt, Hard Labor creek state park, and zone 2 for gators. Hoping to get either deer hunt. Would love to get both. I had 2 points to wager on both...It will be a while before I get picked for zone 2 gators but I will get down there eventually. I'll keep stacking points until I do.

we saw 31 gators that night.I hooked with one earlier I thought would go 12 and lost it.
Got my 12 around 10:30pm, was midnite when I put the crossbow to him.He came straight up out of the water in front of me.Shot him in back of head and he was so close the bolt didnt make it off the rails of the crossbow. what a rush.

That's what I'm talking about. I am hooked on it and can't wait to get a chance at one of those dinosaurs!
I believe I may be more taken with gator hunting than deer hunting...If that's possible.

One of my buddies will most likely draw Zone 2 this year. He wants to do a DIY hunt.
Our usual hunting group from work will be out trying to help him fill his tag. I’ll have 4 points next year and will likely draw a tag. My daughter will have 6 points by the time she turns 12-she’ll be in for sure.
