Rant: OBO + No Lowballers... Thin Skin

Yea, ya got a guy selling a used 22 right now that retails for $220. He's offering for $350. And you think people won't offer him the $150 it is worth? Who cares if he says firm. BTW, it's a piece of junk. If you say firm on a price that is stupid high, some of these guys are going to make offers just to mess with you. OS should allow slamming for gougers.
 
I agree 100%. If your price is firm then say so, don't ask for offers if you are unwilling to negotiate. Recently made an offer for a firearm accessory where my offer was $75, on a $80 listed price. That offer was rejected, which was his option. Fine, but the member then told me he was going to end the listing and put it in eBay at more than double his ODT asking price. Again, that is his right, but in my opinion it is simply taking advantage of buyers that don't do their homework. It is just wrong to ask for more than double the MSRP for an item. It was his item and he can set his price as he wishes, but I choose not to pay more than it is worth.
