Rarest muscle car, turbo charger in the 60's

Interesting read till you start getting to the reliability issues
Exactly, however if you were a engine tech geek like myself the sky was the limit. I would be thinking of a bigger displacement engine with a ton of performance upgrades. The problems back then I believe was getting oil to and from the turbo charger. The same problems that plagued the late 70's early 80's turbo Trans Am's. Owners loved to rev those engines right before they hit the kill switch spinning the turbines to the moon. With the engine turned off right after that the oil wasn't getting to the turbos spinning insanely high. Many a turbo car owner experienced premature failure just to hear that turbo spool up right before the tuned the ignition off. Not the most intelligent move they could have made. As the article stated the Corvette was only a second quicker. I wouldn't take much to squeeze the HP out of one of those babies. If one knew what he was doing he could have had the fastest thing on four wheels and would have been one hell of a car to drive..

Just don't turn the corner.......🤣Not sure a big block and turbo would've fit under the hood. But neither would a supercharger. Not much of a fan of unibody. Extra weight. The car actually looked good.
Remember the Chrysler turbine engine. That's right up Jimmy Jet's alley......
