Real German m35 helmet?

I’ll pull the liner off tomorrow and check it out

Be very careful that you don’t tear the leather liner. That is a nice helmet and you want to preserve as much of the originality as possible.

Nice helmet. It appears to be a double decal (Wehrmacht and National decals) M35 Size 64 manufactured by F.W. Quist (Q64). Is the vent riveted or molded into the helmet? That was difference between the M35 and M40. The liner appears original with draw string and there might be a faint stamp in the top of the helmet under the liner but it’s hard to tell from the pictures.

I would do 2 things if it were mine.....I would smell it, and I would try it on.

I love the smell of old surplus gear regardless of country or history.

That particular Heer decal is also correct for that Quist helmet, it’s called the “Bigfoot” decal among collectors.

Whatever you do, don’t disassemble the helmet except for professional repair - restoration.

No worries didn’t remove the helmet band. I’ve had enough ppl reach out to me and confirm that it not replica so I left it alone.

Here is a few pics of my double decal Luftwaffe M-40 with soldier’s name “Nowak FK Gefr. “ handwritten on the liner. Chinstrap dated 1941.
