Recall is on the orange ones from a particular batch. Refer to the # on the side of the ascender to verify. Defective batch # is listed in the 3rd column below picture, on left.

Scary stuff. I switched from Prussiks to Kong’s. Then I started breaking down the weak links. What is most likely to fail. The safest system I have come up with is 2 bridges (2nd looped to linesman loops) and I retied my Prussiks and use them as safeties for the Kong’s. If this doesn’t make sense, I’m happy to explain further if anyone is interested. Stay safe up there.

I replaced my 11mm rope since they both had a few years on them already. I got the 8mm ropes this season. I decided to not use an ascender and have added a Prusic tender on each rope. Simple enough and less bulk/weight.
Would like to see your setup if you don’t mind posting it. Having a safety or backup in place is never a bad idea.

I’ll snap some pics next time I get in the tree. I basically just remove my lineman rope and use it for an additional tether. 2 tethers, 2 bridges, 2 ascenders and 2 prusiks. Makes me feel safer.
