Recommend a good store bought sauerkraut.

My lovely wife brought two jars of the Silver Floss brand home from the grocery store today! Had kraut and brats for a late lunch and it was good! Maybe not quite homemade but still pretty tasty. I’m going to look for some of the other brands that have been suggested and give them a try too.
Thanks again, Mike

I get the glass jars at Aldi and to me it’s good kraut . I usually get a case at a time and that lasts me about 6 months. Growing up mom and dad used to make kraut every year and it was great!
Making homemade kraut is on my "round-tuit" list. One of these days I'll get around to it. I've read up on it and there's nothing particularly difficult about it. No harder than making beer and probably easier.

Got family up in VA that them and their community do a kraut canning every year in the fall, once all the cabbage heads are picked they get a big ol washpot boiling and the process/assembly line starts! I only had the pleasure of tending a few growing up but man what a time, you have to be careful of the clear liquid jars that get past around LOL. If memory serves some gatherings had close to 50 people or better in attendance. The air reeked of farts for miles around!

Sounds like the Mennonites I used to know up that way. Everything was a community affair. Good folks and good eating.
They tried to rescue me from my evil ways...it didn't take.

lots of good folks up in them hills and hollers! They are just a bunch of ridge runners and hillbillies and I'm proud to call'em kin!

Reading through and got hungry! Cool thing about sauerkraut...it's super easy to make. Get a fermenting crock, some cabbage, spices, salt and water. Shred the cabbage throw it all in the crock and then you have Kraut. Super easy. Kim Chi is easy too just different spices.

Hard to beat bubbies kraut for quick convenience though.

After going through this thread I'm jonesing for some good Kim Chi myself but that's a rare find in Ghetto Grove. I may have to make the drive to Pubelicks.
