Red dot your ccw? Or stick with irons?

It seems everything is moving towards optics...

I’ve always ran irons but recently aquired a p365XL with a red dot. Curious what most are running and why

In for the comments. I’ve been considering one for a 10 mil but I’d be open carrying on my hip in hunting situations. I feel like on a ccw it’s just one more thing to snag on clothes, but I am aware some of those micro red dots get pretty tiny but then I wonder about their reliability.

Irons. In self defense you're gonna be point shooting so optics are like aglets on q carry weapon to me. Theyre there, they serve a function, but noone knows why.

RDS is the next thing for sure on your handgun, has been on rifles for a long time. Dry fire practice and training will get your presentation on point. Get co-witnessing irons for the event that your RDS goes down. But, like someone above said, in a stress situation, point shooting is the answer.

a red dot optic does not need turned on. They are either a “always on” model or other models are a “shake awake “ so it activates as soon as it detects motion. Def don’t wanna be playing with switches like some of the cheap laser sights which are not red dot optics

How do you conceal carry? I prefer appendix and I just don’t see a red dot being comfortable for long periods of time especially if your job requires a lot of moving around like mine does.

Irons only. Don’t need anything extra to impede my draw or malfunction at an inappropriate time.

How does a RDS change your comfort while carrying appendix? If anything, the back of the slide would dig into you, not the RDS.

Idk and I doubt I ever will, like I said red dots on ccw’s ain’t for me.
