Hey guys figured I'd start here and find out if anybody knows where to find reloading dies for a 6.5 vetterli. I have a 1889 vetterli terni and can find most of the things I need to reload except the dies. Are there custom dies or someone who has these.

I know that Redding and RCBS will both make custom dies for reloading. might check with Midway and see if they have dies for it, www.midwayusa.com . to make the custom dies they prefer to have a chamber drawing, as well as 3 fired rounds (empty brass) to confirm sizing.

Thanks for the info, i'll give them a try. Been trying to search google and haven't come up with much except don't shoot regular 6.5 loads out of it ( too Hot)

this is the outcome your shooting for in a Carcano vetterli ... You will have to cast your 6.5 bullets .I use a Lyman mold there are no commercially available lead bullet heads in264. Why lead you need a low pressure slow velocity ammunition and this will get you there...Lee makes dies and there cheap..but the bullet mold will set you back a hundred and 20 bucks....I shoot mine a lot there a fun gun .

I should have looked at how old this post was before I replied..... Maybe he shot the gun was some Norma ammo 267. and blow himself up because this was his last post 2011 was a long time ago.RIP .lol

Randall Moyer casts a SAECO #62264 gas checked at 140 grains in 6.5 cal. I don't know it that's heavy enough but he casts and sizes to your specs and is quite reasonable.
I look at his web site before i bought the Lyman mold.. 23.00 a hunderd was a to steep and I'm cheap I make them by the hundreds ...on these guns if you need gas checks the bullets are moving way to fast .. I use 170 gn bullets with a soft alloy and there near subsonic..no hearings protection required.think 22lr.. Carcano vetterli (1870s to 1880s)are not knowing for their strong actions .. I've shot the pair I have hundreds of times ..but talk about a cool old.gun that has no value
