Giant griddle on a hot day.

I built a huge playground set for my kids that included a metal slide. In the middle of the SEGA summer at the hottest point of the day my then 4yr old daughter ran up the ramp and headed for the slide before I could yell at her not to go down it. She was wearing shorts and let out a blood curdling scream before hitting the bottom. She ended up going to the ER with a burn on the inside sensitive part of her thigh about the size of a plum. It blistered and just looked horrible.

My neighbor had one of these when I was growing up. We always made it into a water slide in the summer and used dish soap. Hit that ground quick!

They still have one made out of cast iron at the griffin city park last time I was there. Been there since before my mom was a kid. Still in use today. It’s in the shade thankfully.

We used to ask Mama for a piece of wax paper and sit on it when going down those slides. It made us slide a HEAP faster. That was fun.

My boys discovered a way to go down the slides at fast food restaurants...very quick. They sit on a food try then slide...its like a wet noodle.
