I have a Remington 550 that I acquired on the cheap side. For those not familiar it has a floating chamber and is semi automatic and shoots shorts and longs.

I thought about threading the barrel and suppressing the rifle thinking since it will fire shorts maybe it would reliably cycle 22 long rifle quiet or suppressor rounds.

Any of you fellas with suppressors maybe done this or have any insight?

I know I could shoot it with ammo before for function check. Just wondering if anyone here has done it. I currently have it disassembled for a much needed deep cleaning

I don't know answer either but would like to know. Is it a 550 with one extractor? Most of my .22 semi won't shoot anything below 1170 fps reliably suppressed.
Yea it’s a 550-1. Well the fact it is designed for shorts had me curious. When I picked it up it hadn’t been shot in years. Floating chamber was stuck. It was just in need of a good cleaning. Since they are a PIA to disassemble and reassemble I figured I would ask in the mean time.
