Remington R1 Enhanced or Springfield Loaded? Which is better?

Im looking at getting a 1911 45ACP and I have found 2 very nice ones at around the same price =/- $25. The Remington R1 Enhanced and the Springfield Loaded. I have held the Remington and I like the feel, trigger pull, and features of it but have heard Springfield is little better as far as quality goes. I am new to pistols and this will be my first purchase of one and want to get the better of the 2. I was turned off of the Duo Tone Taurus 1911 45 by the gun dealer. So if anyone can offer any advice please feel free.

Thank you

They have done a great review in the NRA magizine on the R1. Haven't used one yet But I have 4 Sprinfields (2 loaded/2 trophy) and I'm completly happy with them. Go check them both out at your local GS, choose what one knocks your socks off, there always seems to be an R1 on here for sale at any given time.

The Remington is made in the USA the Springfield is not. Springfield has a better warranty. I had a regular R1, not the enhanced, and it was great. Totally reliable and accurate. I only sold it because the lack of beavertail was killing me and I'd be bleeding after 50 rounds and I wanted to step up to an STI instead of getting a beavertail fitted. I think you'd probably be happy with both.

Don't have any experience with the Springfield, but it has a great reputation. I have an R1 and it's the best feeling and shooting 1911 I've ever had. I've only had it a few months, but I love it.

Thank you all very much. I will be heading to the GS this weekend to choose between the 3. The Taurus better wow me or it will prob be the Springfield if they are the same price range. I love a decent warranty which is why I was thinking about Taurus to begin with.
