Want to sell or trade my dad's old gun. 1944 1911a1, SN 1748*** It's in real nice shape, all original along with paperwork from 1957 when it was purchased for $39.95. I'm not putting much info up because people who know, know. This is my first ad and I'm not desperate to sell but would like to part with it. $2000 Serious inquiries only please.
And I would trade it for three new XDM .45's from a dealer? (I paid $600 for mine retail, soooooo.....let me know) Alan 706 638 2334

I'm sure it was overhauled at some point, it's next to impossible to have a WWII M1 Garand, Carbine or M1911A1 that was not overhauled or rebuilt at some point in the war. This is still an amazing piece with some history behind it. This RR has the purchase invoice with it and you don't come across these every day. I know, I've been hunting WWII USGI M1911A1's for a few years and read some interesting books on the subject. I've seen countless RR, Ithaca's and 1 US&S M1911A1's in the last few years buy of all of them I've purchased two RR's and one Ithaca and those were through people I knew who had had them in their family for some time. I paid $1,400 for one of my RR's and that was a deal and it didn't come with the purchase invoice, had it had that I would have easily coughed up a couple extra hundred bucks. This RR is a good deal, good luck with your sale.

I know what you mean about the rebuild, I have no record of anything like that. An expert would be able to tell more but the few so-called experts that have looked at it couldn't tell. Doesn't look like it was a range gun but ya never know, could have been? And thanks for noticing.....
