Something to consider... Barrett has the reputation world wide and the military performance aspect coupled with durability and reliability.
This will be hard for Rem to overcome.
Remington would not have gone this rout unless there is an open requirement for them to have a Fed Gov’t contract for this type of system.
This will be tested if it hasn’t been tested already at APG for reliability in ambient, cold and hot these chambers. Come to think of it, if it’s already commercialized, it’s already gone through the riggers.
Will be interesting to see what path Rem takes with the weapon system.
Keep in mind, these rifles are “build-to-order”. This means they have not yet landed a gov’t contract to go into production.

I gotcha brother... if it were me interested in this weapon, I’d wait a few years to see who’s picking it up and what applications this weapon system is being used for.
I’d definitely would want to know barrel-life, receiver-life, durability & reliability concerning both...as well as recommended ammo options...
Because this is soo new, I would be hesitant on throwing anything through this except ball right off the bat.
The M107 hast a slew of **** you can sling through’r. Question: will this be the case for this Rem 50? Will it perform just as good or better than....

Eh i just dont see the point. Remington quality has been constantly dropping so at BEST all i can see is this being a simply OK rifle and i really dont wanna be spending that kind of money on an OK 50 cal. Remington has also been lacking in the new **** department and has really needed something with some WOW factor to drive up sales. nad while this may have SOME wow factory, you can bet you last dollar they wont be shipping crates of them.
All in all if I were to be making a purchase, I would stick with the 107.
