It's been around for a long time. Remington is just sticking their name on it.
Please clarify, (what’s been around for a long time)?

The "Remington" 50 cal rifle.
See previous comments. This started as the Cobb Manufacturing BA50. Bushmaster bought out Cobb specifically for the design of the rifle. Bushmaster then started manufacturing it under their name. Now, since Bushmaster has folded, Remington is simply slapping their name onto the rifle, but honoring the or original Cobb design by using a Lothar Walther blank for the barrel.
It is not a new rifle at all. It is a proven design.
It looks like the receiver and rear were designed by a different group than did the barrel and front end design. They appear to have never talked until the production started.

but
Eh i just dont see the point. Remington quality has been constantly dropping so at BEST all i can see is this being a simply OK rifle and i really dont wanna be spending that kind of money on an OK 50 cal. Remington has also been lacking in the new **** department and has really needed something with some WOW factor to drive up sales. nad while this may have SOME wow factory, you can bet you last dollar they wont be shipping crates of them.
I keep hearing about Remington quality dropping off, been hearing it for 10 years, but I ain’t seeing it, and I see a lot of Remington rifles and shotguns in action every year.
The best are the savage fanbois. Complain about remington, but completely fail to acknowledge that the entire design concept of savage bolt guns is to cut every possible step to make the cheapest costing rifle on the marketTriggers suck and then guys jumped on that band wagon looking for every little thing that could possibly be wrong with their gun. They buy a $350 SPS and then complain about it not shooting like their buddies AI.
Yeah, I’m a remington, fanboy. What about it?? Lol
