Reusing spent primers, not real productive. But will work

Here you go. Powder from strike anywhere matches.

Thanks for the info. After reading some of the post by the guys on that site about how unstable they are, I think I will pass on the match head ones. But I do appreciate you posting it up.

With several thousand primers on hand, I won't be loading any ammo with the reused primers. I just wanted to see if it would actually work. Who knows if it will ever get to the point of having to make my own primers to survive. But if it does, I will know how to do it.

I can melt lead and make bullets. I can turn salt peter, sulfer and charcoal into powder but until now I was unsure how to make primer. Thanks!

I think it is appropriate to re-iterate Dangerous as hell!

(Let's don't try this.)

-I saw a thing on TV about making 22 lr. They pointed out that the priming compound they use is inert when wet. It is placed in the shells and then allowed to dry-thereby making the process safe. This is NOT the same compound. Primers are no **** dangerous. If they are ever stored in any number-and they get set off, unhappiness ensues.

Thanks for posting (for informational purposes and all,) but let's really not try this at home. Good way to blow one's arms off.
