Rifle Arrived! Pics at end of thread Great "CMP" Day - Store and Range Review

Too bad they couldn't ship an empty box. Wink, wink. That scoring system looks really cool. Great for the 300+ so you don't have to drop a G on an adequate spotting scope. Lol

The scoring system is truly state of the art. They have all sorts of fancy metrics that the serious shooters use to improve their accuracy. It also saves having to work in a target pit or a cold range to run out and replace targets. You can also zoom in on the hits, etc.

I've been avoiding this thread all day out of sheer jealousy, but finally broke down and clicked it. Thanks for the write up. Did they have any bolt guns in stock?

Unfortunately the only bolt guns were drill rifles. Plugged barrels and other ugly modifications to the bolt/firing pin/etc. Good thing, too. I sure could use a 1903 just for giggles.

Now over at the CMP range gunstore they had new 1903's with reproduction scopes. I fondled one but didn't price it. I'm sure it was a G+ in price.

Great write up.
What was the range fee $$
I need to make the trip.
The M1Ds are a bit much for me as well keeping in mind you still need scope base, scope, cheek pad if all authentic WOW BIG $$

We paid $20 each for all day. Your mileage may vary.

The M1D's included repro scope and all the goodies except for flash hider and cheek pad.

They aren't making any more but man that's a steep price tag for one gun. I need to sell a kidney...

The shooting range also has pistol ranges including the IDPA (not sure if correct acronym) action pistol shooting. They were setting up the lanes yesterday for the tournament today. They also have pretty wicked shotgun courses. No rental guns, though.

Place would make for a a hella good M&G location but it's just so far away...
