I'm looking to move to the open class, so I'm needing the slide of my M&P cut out for a RMR. Is there any place local (within an hour, hour and a half) that can do it? I'd rather use someone local than send it away.

It is a bummer watching brass hit the lens.
Have you thought about a gun with a frame mounted optic. IE: Glock or 1911?
The SJC micro dot mount works pretty well--at least the ones that I have seem to.
I have tried the slide mounted dots twice over the years, each time to save money over a frame mounted setup--the holster price clouded my view. Each time the sight took a beating from brass.
First time was a 1911, second time was a Glock.
The M&P may work better.....I do not know.
