Robbed at gun point in HIRAM

I don't think drawing and firing in this situation is "tough guy" or "keyboard ninja". Armed people approaching you after pinning your vehicle in warrants a quick and drastic response. You would start with the most threatening and work your way back, but chances are once lead started flying, so would the remaining thugs. Of course you would never rely on the threats to retreat, so fall back on your training and shoot until the threat (s) are over.

I will do everything I can to take my fate out of the hands of criminals, but that is my policy. You have to decide how you would handle situations like these before you are in them. And TRAIN. Think about the exponential odds if your armed spouse was with you when this event occurred.

glad he is ok!

There have been a lot of good things said in this thread so far.
Backing down doesn't mean weakness. All situations are fluid. The individual must live with or die by, his/her own decision. Based on the available information at the time. What could end in victory for one, may be catastrophic failure for another. So I won't even interject into it.
But..... along with everything good that was said.... I usually find one that makes me think... REALLY?! That had to be said?! And all I can do I shake my head in wonderment.
Ladies and gentlemen... My head shaker for this thread....
Of course if your buddy had been a LEO, he could have justifiably shot them in the back when they retreated, as he was "in fear for his life".

I know exactly how much a gun shot wound cost..i walked away survived and wont be a victim twice
its not a good felling and if it happens to you.. you wont let it happen again..Am i right..can i get an AMEN...
Amen!!!!! been there too, can't trust criminals to play by the rules or think they'll play nice and take and go without harm. It won't happen again

**UPDATE**

Talked with a person with knowledge of the situation.

The victim is a young guy, good kid. He's going to school and is an ambulance mechanic. Apparently his business at the ATM was not to withdraw money, but to deposit a check. The victim had his girlfriend in the car. **THE VICTIM WAS ARMED**. The deal went down like the OP described. The perps pinned his car in, approached, told the victim that they had observed him at the ATM, and to hand over his wallet. Under the circumstances, he complied. The perps left. The victim had $91 cash on him.

The victim then went to a nearby parking lot and called the police. They provided very detailed info on the perps, the vehicles involved, etc. Within 30 minutes, the police caught the perps at a nearby RaceTrac gas station.

**EDIT** I received this information from a friend of the family, not from a police source. So, while I have 100% confidence in the folks I talked to, take it for what it's worth.
Too bad at least one of these hoodrats wasn't found dead.

Why would you go to an atm at 1am or get boxed in , always leave yourself an out for defensive driving purposes at the least. My 350 horses would have become a battering ram also while mag dumping since lately its give me your money & still get shot.
Somebody tried boxing me out/running me off of the road on a remote stretch of highway in South Ga one night years ago. I noticed the same exact vehicle casing my truck out while I was in town before this happened. I forced my way back on the road twice, the second time was done while pointing my pistol at him. That changed his mind real quick and he gave up on whatever he had in mind. I was prepared to resort to violence to protect myself but I'm glad that it never came to that.
Glad that your friend and his girl were not harmed. Hiram/Paulding has really changed. I grew up five miles from where that incident occurred.

Many years ago in the Mississippi Delta I had a few Brothers in a car play the you pass me, I'll pass you game. After I passed them for the 2nd time ( they kept slowing down ) they thought it would be cute to pull beside me and pace me.

I smiled at them through the drivers side window and then took the 6 inch Python I was carrying out of my shoulder rig.
Without ever pointing it at them, I continued to smile and laid it on the dash of my 72 El Camino. After that. All I saw was exhaust fumes as they hauled ass.
