That really sucks. I think he was probably sensible. 4 guys with guns out, tough decision, are they going to shoot you anyway ? Who knows, but drawing a gun yourself, in that situation, the odds are stacked against a 'happy' outcome.

It's a good rule to not draw on a drawn gun.
Get yourself time and find a moment to draw.
That's hard to do with 4 guys.

I can't be robbed at the ATM. I don't have a card , never will. No worries. Best way to stay out of a situation is to avoid it completely. However I do wish these hoodrats get what's coming to them, it will in time. They will get somebody one day that has nothing to loose and takes out his frustrations on them one round at a time. I hope it's soon.

Yup.....My average withdrawal is 500. It's not the ATM it's how you set it with your bank.

It would be much better to focus all your effort on the most productive weapon in response to that situation, your vehicle. Choosing to drive and shoot is kind of like finding yourself face to face with a lone armed assailant, and choosing to draw your pistol and knife because it doubles your lethality. I think your thoughts are the same most would have, and are the most common because most of us focus on gun training exclusively. As always, YMMV.

just got news a buddy of mine was robbed at gun point last night in hiram. he was at a 4 way stop in front of hiram elementary when a car blocked him in front and truck in the rear. 4 guys gout out of car came to his car with guns drawn. said they seen him at the ATM, he handed over the money and they ran. just a heads up fellas in the area

I live in Hiram, and I actually bank at the closest bank near where this deal went down. Great.

My wife and I were just talking about how things in our neighborhood are, ahem, changing very quickly. I really don't want to move, but I don't see it getting any better.

Thanks for posting this, OP. It's a great reminder to always try to use situational awareness. I think I might rethink my carry strategy a bit.
