Robbery at Tru Prep thwarted by a familiar face.

I think the "piss off" was a childish reaction to somebody trying to expand the scope of this incident to something more broadly applicable to people who witness or involved in shoplifting incidents -- a teachable moment-- above and beyond one specific incident.
But we (myself and others) did that in a thread you created to bring praise and adoration to yourself. It's all about you.

Yes, it’s all about me. That’s why I posted it. That’s why I told you to piss off.

ok. So now we know the rest of the story.

PS: I would love it if body-slamming shoplifters were always allowed categorically. I'm just afraid that's not the current state of the law, that's all.
Especially the law of torts-- civil actions founded in negligence or intentional harm of other people.
Glad that this woman wasn't seriously hurt, considering that George and most other states have what they call the eggshell skull plaintiff rule.

I hope she appreciates that it could've gone so much worse for her, and she doesn't even think about talking to a lawyer to sue anybody because that would be just a huge PITA all around.

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I hope it hurt like hell.
I do, too. But as a lawyer, I'll just add that it doesn't hurt to do a cost-benefit analysis as GAgunLAWbooklet GAgunLAWbooklet suggested, because the criminal case might go away ASAP, but the million-dollar tort case lives on. OJ Simpson's estate just settled for $58 million. Probably would be less for regular people, but it'd still hurt. The next customer did that analysis -- he saw, and turned around and walked out.

The thing is, the ODT isn’t really the place people go for legal advice, or to hone their hindsight. There’s a risk to damned near any interaction in public anymore.

Even on Facebook now.

You're a terrible THINKER.
She had an *unloaded* gun, that the store employee had just checked and verified was unloaded one second before handing it to her which was less than one second before she started her run with it. So everybody knew it was unloaded and the idea of her bringing her own loaded magazine to fit that model gun into the shop, and loading it on the run without anybody seeing her or noticing it, is flatly ridiculous.

You might as well say that she could've had a CIA assassination wristwatch that would shoot a poison dart out the side to kill any attacker who chases her.
You watch too much TV.

My first day working at a pawn shop the owner explained to me that we never hand a customer a gun without the magazine in it, and if they drop the magazine pay close attention they're not inserting one they brought in. And if so you practice good marksman ship on them before they can load it.

It's happened before, I'm sure most gun shops are aware of this and keep it in mind. Criminal brings in loaded magazine for a gun, ask to see that model, then boom he's got a loaded gun.

So it would be extremely unreasonable for the employees at truprep to assume her intentions were not to load and use that firearm to shoot her way out.

I'm sure there's been many more cases, but here's one that got national attention in 2017.

This is a terrible lawyer case. Dont waste your breath. I've seen his posts. Hes not playing devils advocate, he's projecting and probably trying to stay relevant.
