Mostly likely hung himself. It sucks that he's gone.

he was a pretty cool actor. too bad depression got the better of him. i have a hard time feeling sorry for people who kill themselves those when so many other people dont have a choice in the matter

I suspect that old saying about a 'thin line between genius and insanity' may hold true in this case. Back in the late 80s seeing him live on a talk show (or any venue really) was a matter of "Put on your seat belt and hold on!" The guy was a fierce talent.

i dont get it myself but damn near half the comics i have met in and around the atlanta area alone are pretty depressing to be around when not on stage
also i dont think cocaine and alcohol helps

If you are in the depths of depression, you are overcome by the inability to rationalize. That's why I don't hold people with depression to the same standard. I have no idea what it would be like to be in that place, and I am in no position to pass judgment on anyone that is.
i would not know the pain a person with terminal bowel cancer is going through but im sure it is just awful
that being said life is precious and you only get one. the alternative is hardly better
humans are the only animals i can think of to willingly kill themselves. you can take a kitten, a gentle nice kitten and try and drown it or hurt it and it will fight to its last breath for life. people dont
the fun thing is we are supposed to be the only animals gifted with true reason. quite the conundrum
im not speaking ill of the dead here. i just dont find suicide acceptable
