I bet you out sugar in your grits.

I miss the old place, it was like you were eating at Michael's house. The best times to go are when it's not too busy and you can chat with him.

I've never gone to a BBQ joint looking forward to dessert. I heard his mom or someone bakes the cakes, they are outstanding.

Not quite Rome but Characters BBQ in Adairsville is really good

I’ve eaten there when they were in the old building, it was good. Adairsville is a pretty good drive for us. If we are eating in Adairsville we usually go the the Adairsville Inn. Have not been there in a while either.

I simply do not believe you can "upscale" BBQ. Some foods are not meant to be posh'ed up.

I'd rather go into a shack where you enter through a screen door that won't keep flies out and walk on wooden floors that you can see dirt through the cracks. There better not be a damned "bun" in the joint either. Sliced white bread or nothin'. Music is people talking and rattling ice in glasses of sweet tea.

His mom's pound cake is spot on.

I really don't need to take a 2 hour lunch today but thinking about that brisket is like hearing J. Geils Centerfold....I can't get it out of my head!

Generally speaking we seek out the mom and pop places. Millers Rib Shach in Dalton, JD’s in Cherokee county, for a chain we do like Jim and Nick’s. Have yet to find a good barbecue place in my now home or Rome. Thatchers in Summerville is good.

There hasn’t been good barbecue in Rome since Big Bear closed.

I ate lunch at Hudson's in Douglasville yesterday. Pork sandwich, fries and a large sweet tea. Really good and I can say, after eating there for over 30 years the food is consistently good.
