Good evening fellow members. Over the past year I have been buying up parts here and there to build a 10/22. We’ll finally got everything to finish it up and put it together. I first started out with a few rounds (5 in the mag only shot 3 to check function of everything) no problems. Then went with 10 rounds of Remington subsonic 1050 fps @ muzzle and had a few failures to fire. Round was in chamber just no bang. Added a scope today and went out to site it in a noticed the same thing with two other/different ammo than before.
So my question is what should I look at to help remedy this issue. Also on a side note it’s a new firing pin and rebound spring from Ruger. But I know that doesn’t mean much lol.

Pictures for those who will ask. 🤣🤣

so is this something you built or did you buy it from Ruger? I've had quite a few 10/22's over the years and never had one not go bang unless I have modified it or changed something (springs). That's one of the nice things about the 10/22 they are pretty simple and just run.

If you built it, would need to know what all is in it. If it's stock Ruger, I'd send it back to them and let them fix it. :)

It is one I built so there really is no warranty lol.
The receiver barrel and stock are all Ruger oem parts. The trigger is a BX trigger. I got the bolt from another member who said it was complete but was missing firing pin and rebound spring which I ordered new from Ruger.

Ruger has really bad tolerances, especially in the 10/22.

Pics of the back of the ammo that won't fire? Is there solid strike? Your problem is likely in the firing pin. Length, spring, too much movement, etc.
This!
Does the rim have a solid strike by the firing pin or a light dent?

Could be an out of spec firing pin or under powered spring..... If the chamber is sloppy, might need extra power spring or longer firing pin.
