Ruger Gunsite Scout Scope Options

Anyone mounted a scope on a Ruger Gunsite Scout in a “traditional” way.? Traded for one but don’t really care for the way the scope is mounted on the barrel. Anyone remove the rear peep and install a rail?

I removed the rear sight and rail on mine and installed a XS Full rail system. Much easier to put a scope in any position you want. Currently using it setup in a standard scope position, but I will install a scout scope after deer season.

My advice is to get the Ballistic Plex version of this. Both of my .308 GSR Rugers have this mounted forward of the action as God and Jeff Cooper intended.
