Anyone who has any dealings with a Ruger SR1911 whats your opinions? Pros/Cons how does it compare to say, a Kimber,Colt, or on a cheaper scale say a Taurus? Looking at getting one, just wanted some opinions.

I don't have a lot of experience with 1911s, but I have shot a friend's Colt and another's Kimber. I've had my Ruger for about 8 months and I'd put it up against either one of them any time. It feels good in my hand, never had an issue with ammo, and seems to be pretty accurate. This target was shot @ 20 yards for the online contest earlier this year:

I heard that ruger sr1911 have the barrel made out of the same block as the barrel bushing making them very accurate. Also no firing pin block safety so can't wait to get mine either.

That's awesome for 60 feet.

I've had Kimber & Springfields to date.. I picked up an SR1911 a couple weeks ago and shot it today.. I was very pleased with the gun.. Great groups.. Tight feel and a very clean trigger break.. For the price point it's hard to go wrong with the SR1911 or a Range Officer.. I have both and have similar opinions of each of them.. The differences to me are more cosmetic preferences than anything else..
