Rural Internet? Starlink is great!

Starlink needs to be unobstructed to work at maximum performance. Another recommendation is if you lose power on occasions, we get blips were it goes out for less than minute or so comes right back on, is to get a UPS backup battery for the Starlink. That way it doesn't have to rebuild it's connection map after a power loss. That will slow you down a bit as well as it can take a few hours for it to ping all the satellites and get the obstruction map up back up to date.

There’s no substitute for an antenna that is high and clear of obstructions. That said, for newer users, learn to use the app to restart the router and also to restart service from the backend. Might benefit someone to read that.
Agreed. Now that 24 hours has passed, I have a complete map. Everything is running smooth.

I recently bought a Starlink system to use in our travel trailer, while camping in remote areas.

We used it a couple of weeks ago for the first time, and it worked great, with the exception of one time. During the day and right up until 10PM or so, I was getting 200Mbps all day long.
We used this to control two TV's, and streamed football games all day long. Also used for web browsing and WiFi calling on phones, since we had NO phone service.

The problem started around 10PM at night. The service slowed down to almost nothing. The TV would not stream, and browsing speeds were worse than dial up.

I'm curious to know of others have seen this happen, or if it was just a "one off" situation. We have the GEN3 unit, and the ROAM package. Ours is $160.00 a month, and I can turn it off and on for the months I do not plan on using it. I paused it when we returned home, and I am currently not paying for it.

Using the App, it takes me about 5 minutes to set it up. 5 more minutes and I'm up and running. I love it so far. I just need to figure out the late night slow down issue to be 100% convinced.

Your late night problems might be satellites locations. If i remember there is away to find out how the satellites are located in your area and best reception.
