That's awesome! Very nice!
You can use an acetone wrap to pull out the oils.Bumping this back up. I bought an AK63F from Atlantic...and I bought the extra parts to turn it into an AKM63 clone. My new pistol grips don't match the furniture as well as I'd like, the rifle is battleworn and the furniture is dark, my understanding is this rifle spent a good deal of time in Iraq most likely. I soaked the grips in used motor oil to darken them up, I may give them an overnight soak to see if I can get a closer match.
Someday I'll have the side rail removed and the center hole welded up since the rail isn't clone correct. That bare gas tube was tricky to source...apparently you can make them from Saiga gas tubes. I'll see what can be done to refinish the rifle and if the receiver can be matched to the rest of the build...Atlantic did a ****ty job of matching the battleworn...smh
