Agree. There is a good Charter Arms snub for sale on here for a little over $300. Been tugging on me pretty hard. A lot of good stuff been for sale at good prices. Sign of the times

Got that right. My next price drop on my listing will include me bent over I guess.
Stupid. Can’t give stuff away.

Yeah, I don’t know why I like the capability of 9mm in a revolver, maybe my love of the long-defunct “Medusa” multi-caliber revolver from almost three decades ago. There are number of advantages and disadvantages. I will say the new S&W J-frame sights are a great evolutionary improvement.

Back to 9mm revolvers. I won’t be shy; I just like them.

I do have the Ruger Blackhawk .357/.38 + 9mm with swappable cylinders. It’s a little slower to load and unless, but it works well with all three calibers.

Next up was the RIA-imported, Czech-made AL 9.0. Kind of a small k-frame revolver (3” barrel) and uses 6-round moon clips. I would say it’s slightly better than Ruger, but not quite to S&W fit and finish, but still a great revolver that doesn’t get much press.

Recently? I like to live a risky life on the wild side. I got a Taurus!!!

Yes, it’s their Model 692, a 3” barrel .357/.38 and 9mm (and .380), with a pretty ingenious, swappable cylinder system. Fit and finish is actually pretty nice and the trigger has been very clean and consistent. It’s a 7-shot, so your 9mm moon clips have that extra round. The clips that come with it suck, so I ended up getting some tier-one clips from TK-Custom clips which are awesome. Yes, you can fire both the AL 9.0 and the 692 without moon clips, but you frequently have to “poke” a few empty shells out of the cylinder.

If it wasn’t a Taurus (I’m just being mean), this would be the best fantasy, post-apocalyptic versatile handgun allowing you to shoot .380, 9mm, .38SPL, and .357Mag, and yes, the 692 and AL 9.0 both will (mostly) reliably shoot .380…but it better be dire straits as the cartridges index off the case and it’s of course shorter than 9mm without using moon clips. This is NOT a speed reloading option. Yes, I have used moon clips with .380’s and they will work, but I did get a couple of split cases. It’s not ideal.

Are they practical? That’s debatable. Are they versatile? You could make the case. Are they fun to shoot? Always! I know some like these as BUGs for their 9mm primary carry. I think this is more preference than anything. At the end of the day, there is cyclical interest in wheel guns that shoot common semi-auto cartridges (9mm, .40S&W, .45ACP), they’re not for everyone, but for those interested they scratch a certain itch.

Good read. Another thing. If the weapon's barrel is designed to shoot 38/357, the bullets will tumble shooting 9mm/380. See 38/357 is .357. 9mm/380 is .355 dia.
