So who has one and what are your thoughts?

I know I'm late to the game, but I recently picked up one. Never liked the original Bodyguard, but from what I can tell, this one has nothing in common other than the caliber and name. The high cut beavertail and undercut on the trigger guard makes it easy to get all of your digits on the grip, even with the 10 round mag. Recoil is very tame due to the full grip and low bore axis. Grip texture is perfect, and the thing even has a decent Shield-like trigger. With the shoot-ability, light weight and small size, seems like a really good option for the times when you can't carry anything larger. I've only put about 40 rounds of Hornady FTX through it so far. No hiccups yet.

I don’t have one, but I really want one. I’m like you, I don’t care for the look of the original bodyguard. I will probably get one this summer or maybe sooner. 😂 Also is this the same Rattlehead from the metal detecting forum?

Yep, that's me! Small world. :D
I thought that was you. 😂 As soon as duck season is over at the end of this month I want to go metal detecting with you as long as you will still have me. The more videos I see on the bodyguard 2.0 the more I want one though 😂
I have an original lcp now, I want an upgrade to it.

I bought a BG2.0 a few weeks back and have put a bit more than a couple hundred rounds through it so far…. liking the way it shoots with the low bore axis and crisp trigger break. Have begun carrying it in dress slacks pocket. So far, I’d give it about an 8.5/10 overall….

About the only "negatives" I see so far is…. the one I have came with the thumb safety…. which was so stiff, it was basically unusable. I tried "working" the safety to loosen it up but that was fruitless and only gave me sore fingers. Finally ended up using a very small flat blade screwdriver to slightly bend the wire-type spring forward and relieve a bit of the pressure it places on the safety switch…. that at least rendered it operable with one's thumb…. won’t be carrying it with the safety engaged, but perhaps when the gun is "parked" and not in my pocket, that will offer an added measure of safety….

Only other concern so far is with the rear sights…. they are quite "square" with sharp edges that could snag on clothing while attempting to remove from a pocket…. but I might be able to develop a technique to work around that….

Have run a combo of PMC and Fiocchi 95gr FMJ, Federal HST JHP and Hornady FTX 90gr JHP in it so far with no issues.

I think I like the BG2.0 slightly better than my Ruger LCP Max so far…. they are otherwise almost identical for comparison in overall size/weight, capacity and concealability….

Took mine to the range a couple weeks ago. Shoots great for such a small gun. Decent sights and trigger and disappears in your pocket. Being able to carry 10+1 or 12+1 in such a tiny gun, and a quality gun, is perfect for me. Its everything the LCP Max wants to be. But unlike the LCP Max, it doesnt feel like a cheap toy. Thats why I sold my Max to help pay for my 2.0.

Whenever you’re ready just let me know. I’m always up for some detecting!

Yeah, that safety is pretty stiff. On mine, it’s way more difficult to put on safe than sweep it off. I guess that’s a good thing.

My only complaint with mine was that it shot way left out of the box. The front sight wasn’t centered. I drifted it over a little and it’s GTG.

I’ve never owned an LCP Max, but I agree about the quality. Seems very well built with a good trigger and stainless slide. The Armornite finish S&W puts on their pistols is outstanding.

I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about the wide U notch rear sight. To me, it’s a perfect fit for this type of pistol. No need for bullseye accuracy on a tiny gun like this. It’s fast and still plenty accurate for what it is. Much better than anything on my other pocket pistols.

I watched prices online through gundeals.com for a while and many places have been posting the BG2.0 on their website for $399+shipping…. one seller advertised for $350…. was set to buy from them but when I actually put one in the "cart" and was going to check out, there were a couple "miscellaneous fees" plus shipping that jacked the price to $400+ anyway….. ended up getting mine from the local shop/range I go to all the time…. they sold it…. the guy shot it a bit and consigned it for them to sell for him…. still paid just over $400 but I believe it’s well worth it….

I expect the gun will eventually come down a bit under $400 once there are more out on the market…. just like the P365 and Hellcat did…. after about a year or so.
