S&W DA .38 Second Model Revolver

I hope I'm in the right forum for this question. A relative of mine has an old nickel plated S&W revolver that has no markings on it to show what caliber it is. .38 special ammo fits loose and .32 shorts don't fit tight either. Looking it up online, we think it might be a .38 S&W 2nd model revolver. It fits the age online listed as the 1880s. All serial numbers match and is 305543. Is anyone on ODT familiar with this series of early S&W revolvers? I'll try and post some photos. Thanks for any info.
Very cool smith,i'm diggin the holster. Love to see this old stuff.
