S&W J-frame

I have a, seems to be new unfired j frame, that I got from a fellow ODT’er as a gun smithing project. It does not fire! At first I thought it was the springs so I upgraded to an apex j-frame spring upgrade. Gun operates with cylinder out of battery but when the cylinder is locked in, gun operates as intended except hammer will not drop. Anyone had any problems? I figure it’s something simple I’m just not sure what it is.

Do you have the transfer bar for it?

Return it to stock. Call S&W and they will send you a call tag and repair and return it

The centennial models don’t have the hammer block like the chief specials models.

Looks like the trigger is broken.

Yeah, just saw that it was a 442, so no hammer block. So the hammer will cycle with the cylinder out, correct?

Good eye, my man. That is definitely missing the hole that the trigger stud goes through.

Trigger isn’t broke it’s just a poor photo with a shadow. And yes it will operate correctly when the cylinder is out

Well darn it was hard to tell. I was hoping that would be it and a simple fix
