I am looking to purchase a second hand gun. I love the one I have as an EDC but looking for another pistol for the house. Any suggestions? I know a lot of the pros and cons. I purchase handguns with a trigger safety so being familiar with the safety isn't an issue.

Thoughts and help is appreciated.

Thanks

I owned a gun shop and took in a lot of used guns. Stick with solid name brands that you know and trust and looks are important. If its beat up then don't buy it. Size and mag capacity are at your preference. There's tons of good guns out there at good prices.

Price is huge with me. I have had about 3 different brands of handguns. I have a Canik now that I love. I was thinking of another Canik of the same model, CZ, FNS or maybe something else. I like the Walthers. Just having a hard time making my mind up.

Personally I like the idea of a 2nd gun of the same flavor. Familiarity would be a huge factor since, in the event you needed it for home defense, it may likely be in the middle of the night when you are not fully coherent. 2nd would be ammo/magazine compatibility if you needed it for any number of reasons. My only caveat would be if the 2nd gun was a revolver, just for simplicity.
