It sucks bad I know....

The part that feels the best in the end is the fact that you are doing what is best for them...as they always did for us. In a sad way we return the favor.

Sorry again

Done that a couple of times in the past, not easy but you can be there and hold them. They just go to sleep, pretty peaceful. Sorry for your loss.

Old combat vet here. But I tell you the day we had to put down my spaniel, fought back those tears. Tough tough decision to put down a ailing pet. That is the great thing about the love a person has for their pet and the love the pet has for their owner. Trust. No pain for the pet and such a better way for them to go. It is harder to watch them live a miserable life. Tough decision that needed to be made. You got the memories of a good pet to last you well past breaking in a new one.............

So my Chocolate Lab keeps having seizures...We have taken her to the vet and she prescribed anti seizure medicine. That was a week ago and it is getting worse...We think that she has a brain tumor. The seizures are back to back now...
We are going to put her down tomorrow. I have never done this before, what can I expect? Will she be in pain? I can't express how sad I feel right now.
Thank you ahead for all of your support.
Sorry to hear that. I've had some great dogs and it's always tough losing one.

I had to have my ex-wifes grandmothers dog put down. Its not easy when you are so close to the dog. I held him and then took him to have him cremated. Then took his ashes to her grandmother in a nice urn. I also had one of my dogs cremated that passed away while I was at work.

Sorry to hear about your dog. I have 3 personal dogs now that are my only family that I have and one department dog (my partner) who is also like a child to me. I know it will happen again for me.

Today is the day. 10:00am
She had 10 seizures yesterday. It has gotten to the point that I just want her to rest. Not more pain or suffering for her. Thank you all so much.
