Sayings that stick with you

Another was my dad's biggest pet peive....

"Everything in its' place".

Now with my own kids I understand that phrase way more, expecially with my tools.

One of my old fishing buddies when talking about bars and such........

"If you wouldn't take your kids there or wouldn't want to run into them there when they come of age, you don't need to be there."

Don't know why that stuck with me over the years like it did, but he is wise beyond his age. We don't hang around together as much as we use to for some reason, but still consider him a good friend.

Maybe he's taking his own advice... :boink:

Just kidding ;)

Not really a saying but I always tell my grandmaw shes" The pretiest ol gal on the block" and she always replies "Dont you mean pretty ugly and pretty apt to stay that way"...

My dad always said. "Remember son, You can not BS, a Bs'er....Thats my game and you will NEVER beat me at it, so don't even try"

And this isn't a saying really but something I thought up.

To wait until you retire to do what you want to do is just idiotic, think of what you want to do someday, and find a way to make a living out of it today!

While not from a family member, this saying has stuck with me and even spread to a few other people.

Back when I was doing construction, when I would run the Deere 7520 with the hay blower, my foreman would always say "Haul a$$ and sh*t hay!"

If you've read many of my post, you've likely read this:
"It's far better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!"

"I may've been cut out for hard work, but I don't bleve I was sewed up right fer it?"

And this one applies where I work everyday;
"You're bout to let your ass cheat you out of some good help!"
