I recently sent a reply to a fellow trader asking where he was located after viewing an item he was selling. I started getting messages on my phone to ship the ffl item to my home address for half the price pending an inspection. The individual's phone number was 12132236624 a Los Angeles area code. Later the originator of the item contacted me and it was not him that was messaging me. Clearly the outdoor trader is being targeted. Buyer beware.

The scammers have programs to constantly scan thousands of forums and websites like this one to harvest phone numbers and e-mail addresses. Most likely your phone number was posted in a public thread to a previous ad.
Click on your profile then use the "find all content by" search function to view your previous responses and then delete your phone number. If the ad is closed, click the report button on your response and ask a mod to delete your response with the phone number.
