Yep, I was putting a clutch in a fox body a few years back and rolled over on one of the little bastards heard the squeal and before I could move it got me on the shoulder, couldn’t move my arm for a couple days and looked like the hump back of Noter Dame.

I’ve killed a few over the years in SW GA.

I've never run across one in all my years. We didn't have armadillos or coyotes until there started to be migrant farm workers. I figured the dillers & yotes followed them here. So who did the scorpions follow to SW Ga.?

Wood scorpion. Stings like a bee or wasp. Hurts like HECK when it happens.
In a Few hours, just a Red mark.
I find them in the Woods all the time. Usually under wood!

Had one in the woodpile a few years ago... was maybe 6 inches long and had a blue patch on it's black body...

I have only seen a handful here in NW GA and in the metro. The biggest was at Red Top Mnt. State Park while camping in early fall. Startled me since it was dusk and I could only see the shadow/movement before I realized what was crawling on the picnic table.

I live in the woods outside of Waleska, we see them little boogers often. Actually I live in a house in the woods. 50 years ago I would not need a house, just a sleeping bag.

We have them on my mountain, if I forget to close the tub drains, they will come in that way..

Have a ton of them around my area in Heard County. Free range chickens have all but eliminated the need for pesticides for me.
