Selling Dad’s gun…

I have a highly engraved 1899 Savage in .303 savage that I’ll never sell. It was my great grandfathers and he’s who I’m named after. I have a picture of him coming out of the woods with a deer and that rifle. I’d like to recreate the scene someday before I die.

That’s sounds like time y’all will definitely enjoy and those are the memories they will cling to

My grandfathers cane is an old sale barn cane that he broke, probably “encouraging a cow” and cut him a piece of pvc to replace the broken end.
Mine are from the Wilkes County stockyard, I gave one to my son with him orthopedic problem, but praise God, he does even need it any more .

I bought a Remington model 11 12 ga from a guy on here. I think he said it was his dad's or granddads. He thought it was made sometime in the 50's. Turned out to be a pre model 11 made in 1907. My dad had a 20 ga and really wanted a 12 ga. All of us kids chipped in and had the gun refinished except the wood. The wood was in unbelievably great shape. We surprised dad with it for Christmas and he was like a kid in a toy store. That one won't get sold either.

Of my collection of guns, they'll be split evenly between my kids, except for a couple that I'll will-away elsewhere. Both kids are 2A-supportive and will be happy to get them.

Some of the guns will be so utterly common and mainstream, I wouldn't care if my kids sold them off if they needed to get some cash to pay their rent, but a few of them will be somewhat special (to me, and hopefully to them) and will become proper family memorabilia.

But ultimately, once I'm no longer here, I have no control over what'll be done. All I can hope is they take my wishes into consideration.

That's it, just do the best you can
