Has there been much about it in the German media?
Devils advocate - if talk of a potential national gun buy back causes a deflation of gun prices, will the "ODT family and community" guys here give me fair market value for my AR?

Plenty, yes. All over Europe for that matter. Keep in mind that seeing a pocket knife freaks a lot of Germans out, and carrying the wrong type of pocket knife will land you in seriously hot water.

If in fact this type of legislation is allowed to pass, it is setting an incredibly dangerous precedent. What happens when some psycho shoots up a school with a shotgun, handgun, bolt action .22lr? Seriously, how easy would it be to add guns to the naughty list if legislation were already in place.
