The Shooter's Den in Watkinsville, GA will be hosting an NRA Certified Basic Pistol course on 09/13/2014.
The NRA BASIC PISTOL course is the benchmark for instructing new shooters on the proper function and safe handling of handguns. The course is at least eight hours long and includes classroom and range time where new shooters are instructed how to safely use revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn the NRA rules for safe gun handling and storage, pistol parts and operation, types of ammunition, fundamentals of shooting, cleaning and maintaining a pistol, and opportunities for further skill development. Students will take a practical shooting examination and receive a certificate upon completion of the course. The student will also receive a NRA Basic Pistol student packet, containing: the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, a NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and a Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet. Students should expect to shoot up to 150 rounds of ammunition during this course (not included). The cost is $150.00.
Students may register for the course by contacting Tom at The Shooter's Den of Georgia directly at (706) 310-1234. A $50.00 deposit will be required to hold your seat in the class. Students may borrow a pistol from The Shooter's Den of Georgia for the course (ammunition not included) with advance notice. The cost of each course is $150.00, which includes range fees, lunch, course packets, and morning refreshments. The only thing not included would be the cost of ammo and a small charge to rent a gun if necessary.
