serious question-baseball sucks and so does sports

It's all to much political bull for me now !

Agreed. It has really become a big turnoff for me.
Sure, everyone has a right to their political beliefs and all that. But it doesn’t mean that the world needs to hear them
Just because you are a popular athlete in the public eye doesn’t mean that you have some sort of responsibility to air your views. And that goes for musicians as well.

I never played sports. Grew up with motorcycles. Thats all I wanted to do. I was raised in northern Illinois in the 60s and 70s. We had the Cubs and Bears and they both sucked. Have zero interest in watching any of it. I did take my youngest boy to a Braves game when he was about 6. And I also took him to see the Lady Dawgs gymnastics once.

Sports is entertainment. I appreciate the skill and athleticism of the players. Its fun to watch. Often, i enjoy story lines and personal stories of some of the players. Freddie Freeman for example, seems like a decent guy who is easy to cheer for.

I'd rather watch sports than most tv shows and movies. TV shows and movies are just a bunch of people playing pretend mainly about things that have never happened and are purely comic book fiction.

Growing up in New England I loved going to Fenway to watch the Red Sox lose to someone.

If it was even possible to get tix to the Bruins or Celtics at the Boston Garden I would go if I could, although I saw way more concerts there than games.

Watching the Patriots lose was too dang cold to be fun though, and all of them were boring on TV.

Funny thing is the Pats are the last pro team I actually used to keep up with, but the woke NFL even turned me off on them.

i find it very entertaining watching the best our species has to offer from a physical standpoint compete in a game. Same as listening to a lecture by Albert Einstein or Sir Isaac Newton, or watching Laurence Oliver on stage or witnessing a Renaissance painter would be.

Wife just added the new Atlanta braves channel to our Directv so her sister could watch her favorite team while staying with us recuperating from brain surgery. Oh what we do for family. I don’t even like baseball and we have one TV. :frusty:

Individual sports like gymnastics, track & field, skiing, swimming, diving etc. can be amazing regarding the skill, strength, endurance etc. of the participants, but team sports...meh! Take the gambling out of team sports and you will lose 70% of your audience immediately.
