I’ve decided to move my powder charging, priming, bullet seating indoors. It’s cold and hot in my garage. I keep all my powder and primers indoors anyway so figured why not move everything except case prep in the spare bed room. I’ll do all my resizing and other brass prep out in the garage since it’s messy and I don’t want brass shavings all through my house and I don’t want my auto trickler v4 out in the garage getting hot and cold

I bought a 50” wide by 24” deep desk from
A member here. Got it erected and added 1/8” plexiglass top so the soft wood desk top wouldn’t get destroyed. I’ve got a 42” LED desk lamp coming that will attach to the back of the desk. I bought an RCBS summit press to do bullet seating with.

Anyway, I’m right handed and would like you guys opinion on how to set up the table to be most comfortable and efficient? I’ll be drilling holes in the top to mount the press so I really only want to do it once 🤣🤣

Photo for reference.

My suggestion is to put whatever chair you are going to be using and put it at the table. Set up a couple of things to mimic your press and you can see what feels best to you. I have my progressive presses left and center (most used) with a single stage on the far right. Just make sure that the press arm doesn't hit or interfere with anything else when you use it.

That is why I ordered the short handle for it also. It will be pushed further back than the edge.

Get brackets and mount the table to wall studs. You dont want it tipping over when using the press.
I don’t think that’s needed since the only press that will be on it and it doesnt mount to the edge of the table. This particular press mounts anywhere to the top of the bench rather than having to be on the edge.

You could also get a stand for it if you need/want a little more height for clearance. I recently set up one of the quick change setups from Inline Fabrications. I am new to this but their stuff seems very neat from my novice perspective.

Inline makes great stuff

I'd set my seat up at the desk where I want it and then you can figure out how far back from the bench edge is the most ergonomic for you. if all you're doing is charging cases and seating bullets, just make sure that none of the actions you need to take is "out of reach".

Process left-to-right and you should be fine.

How far side-to side on the desk, where you have it in the picture seems about right given the powder measuring equipment you have. Given that you want everything on the desk within arm's reach from the chair for the duration of a loading sequence, I think that should dictate most of the decision where to locate items - and particularly ones that require drilling the tabletop.

I just got an AutoTrickler V4 so what you see on the left is all there is when it comes to powder measuring equipment.

Since I have to drill the tabletop I only want to do it once
