Once again CTS Tactical CTS Tactical came through with a great deal. So it looks like I will be sporting a new Bergara in 6.5 PRC this year. I have a good scope for it but I am going to try and drop it in a aftermarket stock but we'll see. I will see how it shoots first. I think I might see benefit long range from a stock with a alloy bedding rail built in. I am just pumped about the Bergara name being added to the safe. 🎊😁

I was wondering what other folks are hunting with this year... I finally had the 308 built I have been putting off for a long time and finally bit the bullet...

Joe Collier ( Rifles )who is an awesome builder and also a super nice guy... helped me get the project from paper into my hands... this setup is better than I thought it would be!!!

I am still deciding which bullet to use and I have some testing to do this weekend... What is your favorite 308 round for white tail deer? I am including some of the build specs below. Keep in mind I wanted a short 308 for a suppressor host so keep that in mind.

Shoots 168 Barnes very well...

It's a good looking rifle, right length, right barrel. right suppressor, right trigger. MDT has come a long way over the last 5 years. Great company, great people, outstanding service and are both innovative and willing to purchase good innovation when it makes sense. Nicest Canadians I've ever met in the gun industry.

I won't be hunting this year,
but if I were I would probably use my Savage model 10 (no accu-trigger)
in .243 Winchester, to which I have added a homemade cheek pad.
(For better cheek weld and thus steadiness when looking thru its scope.)

The ammo would be garden variety Federal or Remington 100 grain soft points, with the exposed lead tips.

In the woods where I hunt, even around the power line clearings, I don't think I could get a shot more than 200 yards.
