Supposedly someone that was a S&W distributor screwed up and dealers bought a ton of the shield 2.0.

Some online sites show hundreds or thousands in stock.

I suspect S&W is unloading all of the hinged trigger 2.0 Shields so they can release a 2.5 or 3.0 with the newer trigger used on the Shield plus.
