Shield arms S15 mags...not for carry?

I have the S15 mag and the catch on my 43X. I have taken it to the range and shot several mags through it and it performed flawlessly! Not saying I will or wont have an issue but that's with ANY moving parts!

Yeah I hear a lot of good but also some not so good. Same with the ETS clear mags. Some say they are great and others have issues (some catastrophic)
Watched a review last night and the ETS 19 Round mag in a g48 would cause a dead trigger (doesn’t make much since but it did ). He’s got back to oem and flawless. Back to ETs and dead trigger or severe slow reset. Back to oem and no issues. This was all on video one take

When the ETS mags first came out I liked them. Not enough to trust my life with but for range use they were great. Every now and then you'd have a hiccup but nothing major. Over the last year or two though the ETS mags I've bought have been terrible. Failure to feed every few rounds, rounds get stuck inside the mag, etc. Not sure what changed but they're dogwater now

The two cents of an overweight guy who bought into the G48+Shield hype. Last year I carried the G48 during the summer thinking that it plus the S15 would be a perfect combo. This combo is no longer part of my carry options.

First, I had the G48 with the silver colored nPVD coated slide. I kept getting surface rust build up, especially around the sights. The coating, even with regular care, cleaning and oiling just was not impressive to me. Even with careful cleaning using a soft bristle brush to clear out the build up, the coating started to come off after just a few months.

Second, the S15 mags I had, which were not the first generation, so supposedly the feed issues had been resolved, were not resolved. It was not an issue every mag, but happened far to regularly for me to be comfortable carrying them. I'm not an expert, and this was just my impression/observance, but the rounds seem to feed from the S15's in a more extreme angle. I think the idea sounds great, but was not to my liking. If you want 15 rounds in a Glock platform, go G19.

I’ve only put about 500 rounds through my S15 mags. It’s not nearly enough to comment on the long term reliability, but so far they’ve worked flawlessly for me. If ammo were more available, I’d gladly test more. With that said, I carry a 19 with OEM mags

The ETS mags are trash

Yeah it’s hard to test reliability now a days with ammo shortage/prices.

Have y’all heard of warrior poet society? John Lovell runs it. He seems to know his stuff. I was surprised to see that he runs with both s15 and lots of ETS mags (even for his EDC). I’ve never had issues with ETS mags at range but still hesitant because of mixed reviews

I have ETS mags for Glock 9mm, M&P 9mm and AR15. They have worked flawlessly for many rounds. I bought a couple for a Glock 20, 10mm. About every 2nd round wouldn't feed. They were sent back. I do prefer factory mags for carry.

I wanted a few s15 mags for my 43X but after reading this I'm glad I got several oem mags instead. I'll be adding to add +2 mag ext to at least 2 of them. I carry a single stack because it's far more comfortable than a double stack, especially a block... Glock 19
