Kinda new to the idea of shipping guns, lowers, or ammo, so are there any rules or laws that you're supposed to follow when shipping?

Several. Be easier to ask about specific scenarios. As a generalization; firearms must ship to an ffl when going interstate. Handguns shipped privately can't go USPS, etc etc. Plenty of variations depending on the situation.

Yep, check the laws and regs before trying to ship. It could make you a felon real quick. You would also get better response in some other area other than Help.

You can get info from usps, ups, FedEx, etc, on how to ship or if you can ship.

FYI, don't go into any USPS facility with anything classified as a firearm to ask questions about it.

Found getting the receiving FFL’s full info in hand to be the hardest aspect of my shipping firearms. Some FFL’s flat out refuse to provide it and others want you to use the FFL EZ Check system.

Found paying a local FFL $25 to ship my firearms (and deal with the receiving FFL’s license) saved a ton of aggravation and money, especially on handgun shipping cost.

Found having the ammo buyer send me a will-call label for the Ammo I sold to him to be a life saver, UPS swings by and picks it up from me, no questions asked.

Yep, I’m with you,, I go up to my little gun shop here in the Keys, hand them the gun and the name of the gun store it’s going to,, hand them $35.00. They wrap it pack it and send it off.

First thing you must be aware of is anything out of state MUST go thru an FFL dealer, no exceptions unless it qualifies for a shipment to an C&R holder. Does not matter if you are shipping to a relative, etc.
