I am getting setup to reload a batch of 223/5.56.

Here is the question:

If you you have used this powder for 5.56 or 223, how well did it perform?

I will be trying it in loads using 55, 69, and 75 grain bullets.

Feel free to include your data and results.

Thank you.

Koolaid Koolaid uses Shooters World (they are a sponsor) for .223 in match loading. I texted him to see if he'll respond here. They are a sponsor of his and they're sponsoring our M3G match in February of this year.

I would be very interested in getting some of there Blackout Powder, just haven't been able to find any. Does anyone carry there powder around the Marietta area?

It has been over 9 months since I planned to try this powder.

Here are the results:

After testing six 5 shot groups ranging in powder charges from 25.2 to 27.2.
26.8 and 27.2 produced decent groups and my minimum desired velocity of 3000fps.

I settled in at 27.0 Shooters World Match, a Remington BR primer, Starline Brass, and a 69grain HPBT from PPU.

Fired from a 22 inch barrel it produced 3144fps and an SD of 13fps from a 5 shot group that held less that 1 moa out to 300yards. 600 yard results were approximately 1.4 moa — could have been limited by my shooting skill.

Those numbers match what comes out of Gordon's. 100% burn, but this is a compressed load.

It looks like your 100% fill is at 26.45gr

Thankyou.
That is interesting (%load fill), looking in the case, there is still a little room below the neck. I am seating them out to max mag length: 2.29.

They don't have that particular bullet in the system, so I used the Nosler 69gr as a sub. It is the shortest one in the list. In any case, Gordon's isn't always exact. I always encourage people to check it out and start messing around. It's free and has made a lot of difference in my load development.
