Bench mounted throwers work fantastic as long as you take the time to give it a rhythmic 3-5 taps on the side to settle the powder on the up side(where it fills the volume chamber). It allows the powder to fill in completely and not be messed up by air gaps. On press mounted throwers, I stay within .05 of a grain on pretty much any ball powder. Stick powder can have bridging issues.
