Shooting doe with yearling nearby?

I have one around here that had triplets this year. They get a pass every time they show up. I also have another small one that's alone showing up lately. I figure something happened to the mother. The little one knows how to fend for itself, but it obvious she's lost.

Yep. Those are just babies, the spots are an absolute no go from me. They'll all grow to be good shooters in a couple of years 😋

As many deer as there is now, I’d let them live. Plenty more to shoot if you need the meat. Back in the day when you would only see a couple all season then it was brown and down. But not with todays numbers of deer. I just old and a little soft hearted I guess. But you gotta do you. Yes, the yearling would survive without momma. This ain’t Bambi, it’s real life.

They’re deer all around us here and always a couple people that want us to get them one for the freezer, so I give them the bucks….I prefer to have the does for us. So I say…Choot’em !
