Shotgun, rifle, or handgun

For what it's worth, I bought a Mossberg 500 at Wal-Mart for $225 about a decade ago, and it came with a vent rib barrel and a set of 3 choke tubes. Later I bought a short 18" rifle-sighted cylinder bore slug barrel. That's my one and only shotgun for everything these days. Home defense, quail, rabbits, deer (I "would" use it with slugs as a brush buster, for shots not exceeding 75 yards in thick woods), trap and skeet and sporting clays. It's one of the best values in the firearms world today. The only reason it's not a $500 gun is that it doesn't have "AR" as part of the name, nor any place to attach a bayonet. It's not evil-looking or tacticool. (But I do have a laser/ flashlight that I mount on the mag tube when it's serving in the home defense role).

P.S. I'm not selling mine. I'm just saying I agree that a Mossy 500 is one you should seriously consider.
